Dinah sings Gilberto

Astrud & Joao; an evening that takes off with the music that united the couple, and then dives deep into the individual magic that was Astrud.

Dinah Yonas Manna interprets the songs that put Bossa nova on the global music map, by reacquainting us with the stylish icon with the distinctive voice full of saudade – a melancholic longing.

”The woman, the mother, the musician, the fellow human being Astrud; all these aspects touch and inspire me as a singer. I’m looking forward to paying tribute to all sides of her and her artistry in particular”, says Dinah Yonas Manna about the concert that takes place on December 8th at Fasching in Stockholm.

Eritrean-Swedish singer Dinah Yonas Manna has a background in Jazz, Soul, Gospel, Afrobeat and Hip hop. Based out of Stockholm, she is a member of the successful vocal group The Mamas, Sweden’s national selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2020.

Throughout her career Dinah has worked with Swedish and international superstars such as Katy Perry, Jocelyn Brown, John Lundvik, Jerry Williams, Eric Saade, Blacknuss, Nina Persson & A Camp, Jonas Gardell, Kristin Amparo, Jenny Wilson, Lill Lindfors and Timbuktu.

Besides her vocation as an artist and vocalist, Dinah is also an established choir director and works as a songwriter. She spent nearly 20 years in the renowned Tensta Gospel family where she founded youth choir Tensta Gospel’s Joyful Noise, before she left to start gospel group New School Testament and co-found Afro-Swedish choir AfroGärisKören. In addition, you may have heard her as one of the Swedish voice-over actors in Disney films “Soul” and “Strange World”.

Dinah has written original music featured on The Mamas’ EPs Tomorrow Is Waiting, All I Want for December and Won’t Let the Sun Go Down.
