Scott Henderson Trio / Support Jeff Aug

Scott Henderson is the guitarist who, during the fusion era of the 1980s, caused contemporary super guitarists such as Allan Holdsworth and John Scofield to straighten their backs. With his own blend of blues-inspired jazz rock, Henderson stepped up as a star in fusion jazz. Alongside his band Tribal Tech, Scott Henderson also appeared in Chick Corea’s Elektric Band and in Joe Zawinul’s band The Zawinul Syndicate.

With a constantly inventive, nuanced and free-handed playing, Scott Henderson still keeps the younger generation of guitarists on their toes. Even though Henderson has become a master in his own game, he still has humor in the game in a way that elevates this consummate stylist. Blues riffs and outside playing, metal runs and Coltrane quotes are played out in the most obvious and own way by the nimble Henderson.

Scott Henderson comes to Fasching with Archibald Ligonniere on drums and Romain Labaye on bass. The trio has toured extensively all over the world with repertoire from the latest trio album, from Henderson’s blues album as well as some of what he wrote for Tribal Tech.
