The concert is part of the collaboration Fasching X Selam
Ghana’s frafra gospel queen Florence Adooni combines the best of the music of Ghana’s Frafra and Ashanti cultures in her own irresistible fusion.
Born and raised in the Ashanti capital, Kumasi, she connects history and the present in her melodic highlife, where local Ghanaian traditions are combined with lines from pop, rock and jazz.
Together with Kumasi’s best young musicians, Adooni creates a unique sound where winding guitars and brass attacks are woven over an infectious groove.
Florence Adoni’s voice has been heard on Guy One’s radio hit “Estre” and on Alogte Oho’s Sounds of Joy album Mam Yinne Wa. Adooni has also released a series of albums under his own name, the latest of which was released as recently as May this year.
Now Ghana’s own frafra queen is coming to jazz club Fasching for a unique visit. Put on your outfit and your dancing shoes, because tonight it’s going to be a party night.
