Tarabband

Traditional Arabic music in close dialogue with jazz, folk and Latin, with Arabic lyrics exploring love, war and stories of lives unfolding across different parts of the world. Malmö-based Tarabband come to Fasching with their sixth album, Hub o Harb – Love and War, led by the charismatic voice of singer and composer Nadin Al Khalidi.

On Hub o Harb, Al Khalidi’s lyrics revolve around fear, control and the human need for closeness and connection, drawing on both personal experiences and the world around us. The band’s music has been performed alongside major string orchestras including Musica Vitae, the Gothenburg Opera Orchestra and Norrbotten String Orchestra. At Fasching, Tarabband appear in a more stripped-back setting, with mandol, violin, guitars, bass and percussion.

Over their 18 years, Tarabband have established themselves on stages across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and North America. It is a band where six musicians with different musical backgrounds come together in a tight, dynamic interplay, allowing each song to move wherever the music takes it. Hub o Harb – Love and War is released in autumn 2026.
