Tingsek

Swedish soul with gospel in its bones and roots deep in the American songwriting tradition. On his self-titled debut from 2005, Tingsek already had a personal, intimate style that has become one of his trademarks.

His follow-up, World of Its Own, was where he broke through in a big way, with an organic sound, strong melodies and a timeless groove. As the album turns 20 in 2026, there’s good reason to go back to the music that cemented his place on the Swedish soul scene. Since then he has kept exploring new directions. After his years on a major label he went independent, with World of Its Own Recordings as his base and collaborations ranging from the Vindla string quartet to American soul singer Allen Stone.

His work with producer Måns Mernsten has continued to shape his music, not least on his latest album, Lights Out Association. The same thread runs through it all: soul with an ear for detail, a living band sound and melodies that stick. Two decades after the breakthrough, Tingsek keeps finding new shades in his sound. Music you feel in your body as much as in your heart.
