The Family Tree

The Family Tree continue their reunion tour with a rich mix of funk, soul, hip-hop, jazz and acid jazz. The band developed their sound in Malmö in the mid-1990s, with Anders “Hofstone” von Hofsten on vocals and keys and Patrik “Mac” Larsson on rap. The result was a high-energy live band with a groove that reached far beyond the soul scene.

Alongside fellow acts such as Stonefunkers and Blacknuss, The Family Tree toured clubs and festivals across Sweden and Europe – including Fasching in 1996. That same year, the group released their album Rouse!, featuring the radio hit “Together” as well as tracks like “Superfunk” and “Make Way for the Family”. The band made frequent appearances on TV and in the media, establishing themselves as a prominent name on the Swedish soul scene.

In 2019, Rouse! was released digitally for the first time, followed by two sold-out shows in Stockholm and Malmö in January 2020. The comeback has continued ever since, and now it’s time for Fasching once again. This time with twelve musicians on stage, including a horn section and backing vocals. So once again – make way for the family!
