The More Ohr Less trio brings together three of the most significant names in their respective fields: one of the central figures of Krautrock and the kosmische world, Stockholm-based sound artist Carl Michael von Hausswolff, and British-Swiss composer Christopher James Chaplin.
Hans-Joachim Roedelius was born in Berlin in 1934. With Cluster and Harmonia he played a defining role in the German progressive rock scene that came to be known as Krautrock, or Kosmische. During the 1970s he also recorded several albums with Brian Eno before embarking on a solo career that has continued unbroken since 1978. He still tours and composes with the same precision and curiosity that has marked everything he has turned his hand to – and at Fasching he meets two artists whose paths have crossed his numerous times over the past 15 years.
Carl Michael von Hausswolff – Stockholm-based composer and visual artist, Prix Ars Electronica laureate with the Venice Biennale and documenta on his CV – works with the audio recorder as his primary instrument. Christopher James Chaplin, youngest son of Charlie Chaplin, operates at the intersection of avant-garde electronics and contemporary chamber music. Chaplin and Roedelius first collaborated in 2011 on a BBC Radio 3 project that became the album King of Hearts. Von Hausswolff and Roedelius first worked together on the experimental/ambient ROEDELIUS HAUSSWOLFF II. The three came together as a trio for the first time on the album Zurufe (2021).
A landmark evening for fans of avant-garde, electronic music and kosmische/Krautrock connoisseurs!
