New Tide Orquesta is back at Fasching. The only concert in Stockholm this year!
Highly acclaimed New Tide Orquesta for a quarter of a century has been rocked and soaked on tours through China, Turkey, Russia, Brazil and throughout Europe. Their performances are something of an acoustic, dynamic and musical masterpiece. With composer Per Störby Jutbring at the helm, New Tide Orquesta has, on so far nine albums and countless international tours, developed a completely unique musical style; a mix of modern chamber music, nuevo tango, minimalism and free improvisation. Through years of touring, they have carved out a place of their own on the international music scene and they have played at countless festivals, clubs and concert halls around the world. As permanent outsiders, they feel just as at home in a concert hall in Beijing as in a rock club in Moscow, a tango club in Buenos Aires or a jazz club in Istanbul.
In November 2022, New Tide Orquesta released the record Mo:nster Outside with music from the performance of the same name that the group created with New York-based choreographer Sidra Bell. Tonight we get to hear parts of that music but also repertoire from the entire group’s long career.
