Sold out every year since 2019! Louisiana Avenue’s performances at Fasching have become as traditional as they are legendary. “Sweden’s best live band” (Musikmagasinet LIRA) has been praised by, among others, Wyclef Jean and fills a unique and its own place on the Swedish as well as the Scandinavian music scene. In 2023, they released their new album “STHLM 2 NOLA” and shook both the Swedish and Norwegian television audiences in Allsång på Skansen and Sommerfest Fra Telemark.
During the winter of 2024, the band embarks on a Mardi Gras Edition Tour! As a tribute to one of the world’s biggest carnivals, Louisiana Avenue invites you to a colorful party where anything can happen! Mardi Gras classics from Professor Longhair, The Meters and Dr. John is served interspersed with the band’s own sing-alongs. Audience members are encouraged to come dressed in their best Carnival outfits. Prize for best outfit will be awarded during the evening!
Anyone who has seen the group live knows that with a magnetic swing and flowing energy, they make their concerts into rare captivating events where the interaction with the audience plays a decisive role. The group pours out of New Orleans’ seething cauldron of great music that contains a variety of styles, such as soul, jazz, funk, blues, boogie-woogie and cajun, not infrequently intertwined with each other. A concert with Louisiana Avenue often starts with a party and ends as a carnival. In addition to colorful stage costumes, taken from a Mardi Gras parade, the carnival feel is enhanced by features such as inflatable unicorns, plastic necklaces, parasols and numerous flamboyant costume changes. So the band creates a party that everyone is invited to!
