Süperstar Orkestar

Süperstar Orkestar may well be Sweden’s most active and hardest-working Balkan brass band. This year, the mighty musical organism celebrates 30 years on the move.

The energy is high, the form is strong, and the expedition continues in search of new and irresistible grooves. As long as there are new audiences to reach, new music to discover and new musical horizons to chase, they have no intention of slowing down.

The band took its first tentative steps in the late ’90s, cutting its teeth as a street band in Stockholm and learning how to connect with an audience. The journey has only gathered momentum since. Trips to North Macedonia and Serbia in the early 2000s proved a launching pad, bringing fresh inspiration and connections with master musicians who were both legendary figures and driving forces in the genre’s evolution.

Over the years, Süperstar Orkestar has toured with the legendary King Ferus Mustafov, performed at Guča in Serbia—the world’s biggest Balkan brass festival—released several acclaimed albums and appeared on TV, radio and festival stages. Their adventures have also taken them to school concerts, educational projects and living-room parties.

Once this music gets under your skin, you can’t live without it. Come and hear for yourself!
