Ingrid Malmén

Ingrid Malmén is a Stockholm-based jazz vocalist and composer. Her Swedish lyrics have been described as unique and well-written, and the music as expressive and cross-genre jazz with influences of art pop and free improvisation. With a strong presence and great vocal resources, she invites the audience to her own, musical haven.

In recent years, Malmén has become a rising star in Swedish jazz. In 2022, she was a participant in the Stockholm Jazz Festival’s Showcase for new talents on the Swedish jazz scene. She has toured Scandinavia, played shows at jazz festivals and jazz scenes, and played with well-known musicians such as Jonas Kullhammar, Carl Bagge, Lisa Grotherus, and more. Malmén has released several records, most recently “Malmén + String Quartet” in May 2023, where she arranged her music for voice and string quartet. She is also seen performing regularly with other groups, such as the bands Vad Vi Vet and Öm Kombo. Malmén has a bachelor’s degree in jazz singing from studies at Kungl. The Academy of Music in Stockholm and the Conservatory of Music in Trondheim.
