Ida Sand has become known for her personal interpretations of other people’s music, not least the celebrated Neil Young tribute “Young at Heart”.
She has released six albums on the German label ACT (Naxos). The new album Do You Hear Me Now? (2021) is her most personal production, as she wrote all the lyrics and music.
Stylistically, the sound is characterized by a love of the rich mix at the intersections of jazz, blues, soul and gospel, while the songwriting process is inspired by role models such as Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Paul Simon.
Ida Sand has a detailed and delicate playing, a voice that engages and grabs hold and, in addition, a masterful, powerful band.
