Godtet

Australian GODTET is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and producer Godriguez – aka Dave Rodriguez, acclaimed for his work on ‘The Great Mixtape’ for Sampa the Great.

Back home in Sydney, Godriguez gathered some of the best musicians of the new generation from different directions and backgrounds and recorded the self-titled debut album released in 2017. Since then, GODTET has become one of the most important bands on the emerging Australian jazz and instrumental scene.

With its experimental jazz with elements of folk and electronica, GODTET has created its own ambient subgenre. The latest album GODTET + Strings is recorded together with a string quartet led by the composer Novak Manojlovic. The record lifts GODTET another step into a kind of planetary jazz.

From Down Under now comes this ambient wonder. Don’t miss when Australian GODTET takes over Kungsgatan 63 with their fascinating, distinctive sound.

The Guardian writes: Godriguez plunges into sounds more surreal, with scratchy, distorted samples and almost industrial sounding instrumentals that shiver and boom.
