The Erik Palmberg Quartet has emerged as one of Sweden’s most compelling jazz ensembles, equally at home on concert stages and across European airwaves. Their latest album Faces (Prophone 2024), award-winning in Sweden’s Gyllene Skivan poll, is a testament to their melodic sensibility and tight interplay.
Praised for its “triumph of jazz expressionism” (All About Jazz) and ability to “shift seamlessly between creative interaction and expressive solos” (Lira), Faces combines original compositions and reimagined standards in a cinematic, personal style that reaches far beyond the jazz niche.
Tonight, the quartet is joined by two of Sweden’s leading trombonists – Karin Hammar and Hampus Adami. Together, they’ll bring both Faces material and fresh arrangements of jazz standards to life, with warmth and punch.
