Elaria Orchestra

Elaria Orchestra, one of Sweden’s currently most interesting big bands, visits Fasching for a cracking concert: Winter Flow! With self-composed material, you are invited to a jazzy winter party – a glowing bright spot in the darkest of January.

Elaria is undoubtedly one of the most tone-setting big bands in the country and consists of some of Sweden’s top jazz musicians from different generations. The band enters Sweden’s jazz scenes with a unique artistic language, great energy and joy of playing. The music performed by the band is mostly composed by Erika Hammarberg (composer, arranger, piano). The initiator and musician Lina Lövstrand’s flute playing is often given space, and the audience also gets to listen to strong soloist performances by the orchestra’s other musicians.

The debut album IKIGAI was very well received in the press and was named the 2022 big band record in Lira Musikmagasin with words like:
“This is an updated version of big band, a 2.0, or even 3.0” Lennart Götesson, Dalademokraten

More praise:
“This is a big band that I have experienced live and was very, very impressed by. Lina is a fantastic flautist, maybe even one of the best, not only in Sweden but in Europe and the whole band consists of elite musicians, Swedish fantastic musicians. This is very very exciting!”
Jan Lundgren, Pianist & Artistic Director Ystad Jazz Festival,

“Love what the wayward Elaria Orchestra has achieved, cementing its position as one of the country’s most incisive, well-sounding ensembles.” Mats Hallberg, Kulturbloggen
