In recent years, trombonist Agnes Darelid has worked extensively on the music scenes, both locally in Stockholm as well as Sweden in general, both under her own name and as an often hired sideman. She has been seen in several contexts and genres such as with Loke Risberg Vilddjur Septett, Norrbotten Big Band, Bohuslän Big Band, Beat Company and Radiojazzgruppen. In 2021 she was one of the participants in Bohuslän Big Band’s project “Up & Coming Jazz Talents”, and in 2023 one of those selected to represent Sweden in EBU’s Euroradio Jazz Orchestra.
In 2024, she is about to release her debut album Rise, a springboard towards the future but also a look back at everything that shaped her. With lyrical melodies, driving rhythms and colorful harmonies, she paints a musical landscape that is very much Agnes. The compositions have a strong anchoring in modern jazz, but with equal inspiration from everything from cchoral music to pop, soul and rock. The music often takes direct inspiration from events in life, feelings and thoughts that have emerged during the journey. With her, she has some of the most appreciated new talents on Sweden’s jazz scene!
