STELLA GUSTIN AND HER STELLAR SEPTET
With Stella Gustin And Her Stellar Septet, jazz vocalist, arranger, and bandleader Stella Gustin presents a modern tribute to the vocal jazz tradition. Drawing inspiration from the cool jazz era, the music blends the energy of bebop with warm, soft tones and timeless elegance – where classics from The Great American Songbook are given a fresh new look through personal, distinctive arrangements.
The ensemble consists of eight musicians – vocals, trumpet, two saxophones, trombone, piano, double bass, and drums, a miniature big band that offers both power, dynamic range, and rich, colorful textures.
All music is arranged by Stella Gustin herself, who steps forward here with a clear artistic vision and strong musical leadership, showing that a vocalist can do far more than stand at the front of the stage.
With joy of playing, passion, humor, and a strong stage presence, Stella Gustin And Her Stellar Septet demonstrates that one can stand firmly rooted in tradition – without losing your individuality.

In March 2026, Stella Gustin releases her debut album Stella Gustin Sings on the label TengTones. On the album, she presents her own arrangements of songs from the jazz and musical theatre repertoire, performed together with a top-tier ensemble from the younger generation of jazz musicians. Trombonist Nils Landgren also appears as a guest on one of the tracks.
With Stella Gustin Sings, the vocalist establishes herself as a forward-looking voice on the jazz scene.

JOEL WESTERLING
Joel Westerling is a saxophonist and composer from Uppsala who unites a strong sense of melody with a rhythmic drive and a clear emotional expression. To Fasching he brings a recently formed quintet that performs his own material. The music takes influences from the Scandinavian as well as the American jazz scene which melds together into a personal sound. The group plays with a strong focus on listening and communication in a way that surprises and challenges but always stays true to the heart of the compositions.
