Saxophonist and composer Örjan Hultén presents his new quartet and his fifteenth album, Peaceful Warrior.
The music is newly written, moving between the lyrical and the open, between fragile melodies and spontaneous impulses. Its sound world carries traces of both folk influences and modal landscapes, yet with an expression entirely Hultén’s own.
Örjan is one of Sweden’s most distinctive saxophonists, with a tone that both moves and surprises. Here, he’s joined by Max Agnas, Pär-Ola Landin and Fredrik Rundqvist: three musicians with strong individual voices and a shared musical language.
