LISAS – duon där två röster blir en

LISAS’ compositions weave together folk music, baroque, tango, and contemporary art music into hushed, carefully carved chamber pieces. The duo comprises two of Sweden’s leading folk musicians: accordionist Lisa Långbacka and baroque violinist and Riksspelman (National Folk Musician) Lisa Rydberg.

Their debut album Fiddle & Accordion Conversations (2017) was named by the magazine Lira as one of the most important Swedish folk music albums of all time, and won the Manifest Award in the folk category. The follow-up, Etiam, earned the duo a Grammis (Swedish Grammy) in the Folk Music category in 2024.

Lisa Rydberg was the first person to study the combination of classical and folk music at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Her projects include the duo Bach på svenska with Sofia Karlsson. Lisa Långbacka has been named Sweden’s Accordionist of the Year and produced the music for the 2017 Nobel Banquet.

At Fasching, LISAS bring excerpts from Skuggornas ljus, an animated visual concert pairing their music with David Giese’s animations.
