Saxophonist and composer Amanda Sedgwick has built an impressive career, performing in Sweden, New York, and on major international stages. Known for her lyrical and melodic style, Amanda’s quintet has been playing together for over a decade. Now, they celebrate the release of In My Mother’s Garden on the label TengTones.
The quintet features some of jazz’s most compelling musicians. Trumpet player Dwayne Clemons, with a background on New York’s jazz scene, has performed alongside legends such as Sacha Perry and Jimmy Wormworth. Pianist Elias Larsson and bassist Jacob Sandberg are two of the most promising names in Swedish jazz, while drummer Moussa Fadera, known for his precise and expressive playing, has worked with artists like Jeremy Pelt. Together with the string quartet Anders Nilsson, Lina Samuelsson, Damon Taheri, and Filip Graden, they deliver an evening where tradition and renewal come together.
With the addition of a string quartet, this is a rare chance to hear Amanda Sedgwick’s music in a fresh and exciting format
