Mark May 1st and 2nd in your calendar: Franska Trion returns to Fasching for the thirteenth time. Since their debut in 2002, the trio has built a devoted following and become a cult band whose music is hard to compare to anything else. Their sound moves from the hard and aggressive to the softest whispers, from moments of total intensity to stretches so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Matti Ollikainen, Viktor Turegård and Christopher Cantillo have performed as the house band on SVT’s På spåret, contributed music to the dramedy Meningen med Livet, and in 2024 released the album Nya Kulor. That same year, Matti Ollikainen published the book Trasiga Toner, chronicling the journey from Ullatti in Tornedalen to the big stages, framed by Franska Trion’s song lyrics.
Live, Franska Trion is something truly special. Political anthems mingle with personal stories, piano melodies are hammered out with intensity, and Matti Ollikainen delivers kitchen-sink realism with rock attitude.
