Jazzbois

Hungarian trio Jazzbois play a laid-back, modern blend of hip-hop and jazz. After a few years of playing together, they recorded their debut album, Jazzbois Goes Blunt, in a single session in 2019, embracing the raw, spontaneous spirit of a beat tape. Since then, they’ve released five more albums.

Bencze Molnár on Rhodes and synths, Viktor Sági on bass and Tamás Czirják on drums draw inspiration from the fusion jazz of the ’70s and early ’80s, when synths began to make their mark. But hip-hop is just as central to their sound, from meticulously crafted boom bap beats to its DIY ethos.

Their latest album, Jazzbois Around The World, brings their laid-back grooves together with funk, jazz motifs and rappers from the UK, the US and Hungary. Despite the new collaborations, the music retains the loose, late-night jam feel and spontaneous improvisation that have defined the trio since the beginning.
