Selma Pinton

Vocalist and composer Selma Pinton has established herself as one of the most distinctive voices on the Swedish jazz scene since her debut EP A Lifetime (2018). With a strong focus on storytelling, a soulful vocal tone and an uncompromising artistic vision, she makes music that feels intimate, nourishing and present. She has composed for quartets, big bands and string quartets, and worked across a wide range of musical settings. In 2025, she wrote The Year I–IV (Seasons of Changes), a suite for voice, piano and string quartet commissioned by Scenkonst Sörmland. Her second full-length album, Time Goes Too Slow (2021), was followed by the EP Counting Stars (2024), featuring her compositions in a duo setting with Max Agnas on piano.

Here’s To All (2026) is Pinton’s fourth release. The album is a tribute to the big and small things in life, to nature and to the everyday human experience. It reflects on what connects us, what challenges us and what moves us deeply. Together with a quartet featuring Max Agnas, Nils Agnas and Olle Lannér Risenfors, she presents music that is at times swirling and eccentric, at others fragile and serene.

“Where some debutants come across as merely promising, Pinton already feels utterly assured. Both her voice and her compositions are ready for the biggest stages.”
