Livet är härligt, mamma!

Life Is Wonderful, Mom!

It’s summer on Söderön. Lo and her mother set off on an outing and discover the forest and its animals, the sea, and nature itself. Life is wonderful, mama! Lo shouts. But when a black-headed gull lures her deeper into the forest, something unexpected happens. Suddenly Lo is alone and must find her way back.

Life Is Wonderful, Mama! is a musical performance about discovering the world through a child’s eyes. The story follows Lo and her mother on a summer’s day on Söderön, but also touches on bigger questions about nature, loneliness, belonging, and how all living things are connected.

The performance grew out of dialogue with children, built on their questions, thoughts, and reflections on nature, animals, and safety. The music moves between jazz, Swedish folk song, and folk music, performed with vocals, clarinet, bass clarinet, trumpet, trombone, vibraphone, accordion, double bass, and drums.

Life Is Wonderful, Mama! is aimed at children from around age three and their adults, but welcomes audiences of all ages.
