Pianist Renee Rosnes brought together the group that would become ARTEMIS for a European tour in 2017. After playing together, Rosnes realized the chemistry was too good not to build on.

Blue Note president Don Was saw the band live at the Newport Jazz Festival in 2018, and shortly afterwards Blue Note signed the group. Since then, they have released three albums on the label, most recently ARBORESQUE (2025), which topped the Jazzweek National Radio Charts for five consecutive weeks. ARTEMIS has also been named Group of the Year in the DownBeat Readers Poll three years running: 2023, 2024 and 2025.

“a killer line-up of players who hail from all over the world and converge on this extremely cosmopolitan, sleek, rhythm-forward, modern sound,” writes NPR.

Those with long memories may remember Renee Rosnes as the pianist in Ron Carter’s band, part of the quartet that recorded the live album Foursight – Stockholm at Fasching in 2018. Now she returns to Fasching with ARTEMIS for the first time, joined by Ingrid Jensen, Nicole Glover, Noriko Ueda and Allison Miller.
