Backed by a near-legendary rhythm section, Magnus Lindgren draws inspiration from his acclaimed album Stockholm Underground (ACT Music) – a soulful tribute to Herbie Mann and Memphis Underground where soul-jazz, funk, and jazz flute collide.
The evening features original music by Lindgren and Ida Sand in that same vibrant spirit, alongside a selection of beloved classics such as Chain of Fools, Hold On, I’m Coming, and A Whiter Shade of Pale.
Special guest Ida Sand is one of Sweden’s most evocative vocalists, possessing a warm, soulful delivery that masterfully weaves together gospel, blues, and soul-jazz. Magnus Lindgren stands as one of the most respected and decorated figures in Swedish jazz, equally at home on tenor sax, clarinet, and flute. His arrangements are a masterclass in rhythm, harmony, and texture, nodding gracefully to both the traditions and the future of jazz.
