Rising star Ingrid Schyborger comes to Fasching with her new project Evenfall. Modern, energetic jazz with pulsating grooves and masterful improvisation in true New York spirit.
Schyborger is a double bassist and composer with three intensive years in New York behind her. There, her expression was shaped through studies with Aaron Parks, Harish Raghavan, Linda May Han Oh, Marc Cary, Donny McCaslin, Darcy James Argue and Kenny Werner. Since moving back to Sweden, she has released her debut album In Love With The World (2024), been nominated for the Manifest Prize 2024, established herself in projects like Post-Sun-Vision and Loke Risberg Trio, and recorded an album with drum legend Bill Stewart.
Evenfall is energetic, modern jazz with a distinct New York edge. The music reflects our times of political unrest, urban landscapes and human friction – where drive, sharpness and tight interplay are central. Captivating melodic themes meet complex rhythms, brilliant interplay and groove, with a consistent sense of hopefulness.
On stage, Schyborger gathers a top-class band: tenor saxophonist and EWI player Dayna Stephens (who placed first in the 2019 DownBeat Critics Poll in the “Rising Star – tenor saxophone” category), alto saxophonist Hannes Bennich, pianist Henning Ullén and New York-based drummer Eliza Salem. Together they create an intense and uncompromising musical expression. Contemporary jazz with international weight – straight into the now.
