Boko Yout doesn’t aim for categories. He creates impact.
Merging afrogrunge, post-punk and electronic textures, his debut album GUSTO explores trauma, identity and transformation through the voice of Dr. Gusto, an alter ego rooted in survival and self-reflection. As DN puts it: “Explosive and dreamlike afrogrunge.” And Wonderland describes his sound as “wholly unique but warmly familiar.”
On stage, Boko Yout brings it all into sharp focus. He moves like someone who’s claimed their space, not by force, but through presence. It’s loud, it’s vulnerable, it’s genre-less and absolutely fearless.
