Uje Brandelius is back at Fasching — with more dissonance than jingle bells. After last year’s wildly acclaimed (and sold-out) premiere, Våra minst älskade julsånger returns for a new run that promises both familiarity and fresh music — with more bite than glitter.
Uje Brandelius has worked his way into the hearts of the Swedish public. After spending half a lifetime singing indie-style punk-funk with his band Doktor Kosmos, he’s become a national favorite. A stage show, a feature film, and a stint in Melodifestivalen have made him one of Sweden’s most beloved artists. Add to that the P1 radio show Känsligt läge and an upcoming appearance on På spåret in winter 2025.
Audiences can expect music, conversation, and perhaps one or two unloved Christmas tunes. Mostly, there will be new songs with a more or less clear holiday theme.
“There’s a lot to say — and sing — about Christmas, both from a family and a societal perspective. But let’s be honest: if you’re after cozy vibes and the knit-sweater-with-mulled-wine-and-twinkling-children’s-eyes kind of feeling, you should probably see another Christmas concert than mine. This year’s show will be… both the same… and different… I think,” says Uje.
“Rarely touching and utterly charming – Uje Brandelius’s Christmas show is the best thing you can see.” — DN, ★★★★★
