Tenor saxophonist and bass clarinetist David Murray, a towering figure in modern jazz, returns with his acclaimed quartet featuring pianist Marta Sánchez, bassist Luke Stewart, and drummer Russell Carter.
Their latest album Birdly Serenade, released on Impulse! in April 2025, was commissioned by the prestigious Birdsong Project. Inspired by birdsong and poetry, it blends lyrical melodies with fiery improvisations and deep grooves.
