Ebi Soda – 8 PM

Ebi Soda is anything but traditional. With roots in Brighton’s DIY scene and influences ranging from Can and BadBadNotGood to drill, broken beat, and even The Fall, the band has built a unique sonic world where jazz is just the starting point. Think wild horns, glitchy synths, seismic basslines, and a constant hunger to stretch the limits.

Their live sound is raw, rhythmic, and unpolished – more club than concert hall. At the center is VVilhelm’s searing trombone, surrounded by rattling drums, fuzzy guitar, keys, and heavy electronic effects. It’s music born from extended jams, remix culture, and a deep love for the unpredictable.

After six showcases at SXSW, a support slot for UNKLE, and praise from Jamz Supernova, Huey Morgan, and The Vinyl Factory, Ebi Soda is ready to shake up Fasching with their boundary-blurring beat-jazz.

Lineup
VVilhelm – trombone
Conor Knight – guitar
Hari-Lee Evans – bass
Louis Jenkins – keyboards
Sam Schlich Davies – drums

Goran Kajfeš Subtropic Arkestra – 11 PM

Trumpeter, bandleader, and composer Goran Kajfeš has assembled the crème de la crème of Sweden’s contemporary music scene in Subtropic Arkestra – a boiling collective that has received acclaim from both audiences and critics alike. On stage, they are an unstoppable force of nature.

After a long break, the band is back with new material – but of course, we’ll also hear gems from their The Reason Why trilogy. In this celebrated body of work, Subtropic Arkestra draws inspiration from music traditions in Turkey, Nigeria, and Brazil, only to dive headfirst into Archimedes’ bathtub and surface with Swedish experimental rock from the 1970s. Heavily influenced by post-rock, electronica, and Sun Ra’s cosmic jazz, the group delivers an intense, genre-melting musical experience.
