Johanna Linnea Jakobsson

Johanna Linnea Jakobsson is a Danish-Swedish singer-songwriter and saxophonist, raised in Copenhagen and now based in southern Sweden. Her warm pop arrangements, played with a freedom and precision drawn from the jazz world, are immediately recognisable while echoing something timeless and classic. Her debut album ”Alone Together” (2022) was named one of the best vocal albums of the year by the prestigious Japanese magazine Jazz Hihyo.

On her new album Don’t Overthink It” (2025), the music moves between jazz, folk and pop, with reference points from Norah Jones and Ella Fitzgerald, and traces of Jeff Buckley and The Beatles. The songs are, somewhat ironically given the album title, about feeling lost, indecisive and inadequate. “Don’t Overthink It” is what she wishes she could tell herself – a mantra she wants to carry from the process of making music into everyday life. It’s a warm, personal and embracing record. Songs you want to sink into and let wash over you, like a soft, swaying wave.
