The bard Lars Demian returns to Fasching for another night of bittersweet brilliance. With a new album on the horizon and freshly written material in his set, he’s joined on stage by his longtime companion David Tallroth – a one-man orchestra juggling tuba, drums, guitar and banjo (sometimes all at once) – and the newest member, Love Meyerson, whose marimba, accordion and clever percussion bring even more colour to this burlesque cabaret of sound.
Demian’s music has been described as klezmer blues, folk rock, cabaret punk and experimental chanson, but it’s the lyrics that knock the floor from under you. Tales of booze, shame, sun-drunk kings and worn-out everyday life, delivered with sharp wit and a deeply human gaze.
After a string of sold-out shows and acclaimed musical theatre ventures, Demian is back where he belongs. Somewhere between laughter and darkness, music and monologue, motion and stillness. A new record is coming. And this night is part of the journey!
