Oum is one of Morocco’s brightest voices – a singer and songwriter who weaves North African traditions with jazz, soul and electronic textures. With her new live album Dakchi (“those things”), she celebrates a decade of international touring, recorded in Marrakech alongside her longtime band.
The album revisits highlights from Soul of Morocco, Zarabi and Daba – now reimagined in vibrant new arrangements. Moroccan rhythms, Andalusian melodies and pan-African pulses come together in a glowing musical tapestry. Three new songs, including an Arabic interpretation of the classic bolero Lágrimas Negras, add even more depth to a sound that looks both forward and back.
On stage, Oum is both powerful and intimate – a voice that carries stories and emotion across borders and languages. With her tight-knit quartet, she creates a concert experience that is warm, rhythmic and deeply poetic.
