Svenska Folkjazzkvartetten digs deep into Swedish folk tradition, and turns it inside out. Clarinets, saxophones, drums and double bass lift wedding marches, polskas and herding calls from the archives and throw them into a contemporary jazz space. The result is raw, heartfelt and fiercely alive. Their upcoming release Orsa vol. 1 is a loving and uncompromising tribute to traditional fiddle tunes from Dalarna, Sweden.
