Rubem Farias is a musician who carries multiple musical languages within him. Born in Salvador, Bahia, and long based in Stockholm, he has made a name for himself as a thoughtful bassist, versatile arranger and sought-after producer. With collaborations ranging from Gilberto Gil to Nils Landgren, Mike Stern and Randy Brecker.
Now he returns to Fasching with a new project: Son of Chaos, recorded in Brazil in January 2025. The music nods to his roots, but refuses to settle. There’s clarity here, and curiosity – moments of structure, and space for surprise.
Joining him on stage is a hand-picked band of standout musicians from Brazil. Together they create something intimate yet expansive: modern Brazilian jazz with depth, direction, and room to breathe.
