Goran Kajfes Subtropic Arkestra

Trumpeter, bandleader, and composer Goran Kajfeš has gathered a crème-de-la-crème of the Swedish contemporary music scene in his project Subtropic Arkestra – a boiling collective that, in recent years, has been praised by both audiences and critics, and whose live shows charge forward like a runaway freight train – unstoppable.

After a longer hiatus, the band returns with new music, but of course, we’ll also hear gems from The Reason Why trilogy, where Subtropic Arkestra looks out across the globe, drawing inspiration from music from Turkey, Nigeria, and Brazil before diving into Archimedes’ bathtub to discover Swedish experimental rock from the 1970s. Heavily influenced by post-rock, electronica, and Sun Ra’s cosmic jazz, the group offers an intense and electrifying musical experience.
