Ebi Soda thrive on contradiction. Emerging from Brighton’s DIY scene with deep roots in punk and a love of sonic experimentation, they blend jazz with everything from broken beat, glitchy synths and dub to no-wave, UK rap, and club music. Think heavy brass, beat breaks, and a refusal to stay inside any box.
Live, their sound hits like a late-night rave in a jazz club basement. At the core is VVilhelm’s raw trombone, surrounded by distorted guitar, warped keys, muscular basslines and erratic drums – all layered with dense effects and studio experimentation born from ten-hour jam sessions and a bootstrapped approach.
Fresh off six shows at SXSW and support for UNKLE at Brighton Festival, Ebi Soda arrive with Collaborations & Remixes Vol. 1, featuring remixes from Ash Walker and JD. Reid, and vocals by BODUR, Dream Mclean and more. Get ready for seismic, sweat-soaked beat-jazz – fully untamed and fully alive.
