SOYUZ is both meticulously crafted studio elegance and open-hearted, emotionally driven live improvisation. Originally from Minsk and now based in Warsaw, they speak a musical language where jazz, Slavic pop heritage, Brazilian warmth, and winding horn and string arrangements coexist. Their album Force of the Wind (Mr Bongo, 2022) put them firmly on the map – a collaboration with Sessa and Kate NV that carved out its own universe of MPB-infused arrangements, Eastern European pop nostalgia and contemporary jazz sensibility. With KROK (released October 2025), they sing in Belarusian for the first time, recorded between São Paulo, Stockholm and Warsaw. Tender, dreamlike, distinctive – and blissfully hard to pin down.
