Förnuft och Känsla is a trio that lives up to its name: where emotion and intellect meet in music that balances structure with spontaneity, clarity with exploration.
The group features pianist Fabian Kallerdahl (Musicmusicmusic, The Splendor), bassist and university lecturer Alfred Lorinius (Farvel, Toppkonst), and drummer Johan Birgenius (Mikael Godée Quartet, Bohuslän Big Band) – three musicians widely recognized for their distinct voices in Swedish jazz. “A collaboration between three of the country’s most in-demand jazz musicians with original and unique expressions of themselves,” as described by their label Hoob Records.
Their two albums, Jane Austen Texas (2020) and Målsrydskiosken (2022), have resonated with both jazz critics and global listeners. The trio blends influences from jazz, rock, afrobeat, and free improvisation – captured in both studio settings and an impromptu countryside kiosk tour.
At Fasching, they present brand new material: original compositions full of rhythmic precision, melodic beauty, and fearless play.
