Salin

As a drummer, producer and composer, Salin has created a sound world entirely her own, where the traditional music of Northeast Thailand meets the groove of funk and the breath of modern soul. At Fasching, she presents her new album Rammana, a musical bridge across oceans and generations.

At the heart of her sound is Mor Lam, a rhythmic, poetic folk music tradition from Thailand’s Isan region. Infused with the pulse of 70s Afrobeat and shaped by soulful production, Salin crafts something both contemporary and deeply rooted. During the making of Rammana, she traveled through Thailand to research the musical traditions of two of the country’s 260+ ethnic groups, giving voice to sounds that rarely reach the stage.

Born in Bangkok, now based in Canada, Salin’s music knows no borders. She has performed at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, produced the Juno-nominated Donte Sann Yo by Haitian duo Bel & Quinn, and appeared on Chanel’s Summer Tour in Bangkok. Now comes Rammana, an album where rhythm isn’t just a groove, but a story. A Salin concert is part club night, part ceremony, part sonic journey.
