Some artists don’t just shape a genre, they change it. On August 13, Fasching turns technicolor as a full-band tribute brings the music of Sly & The Family Stone back to life.
Leading the celebration is vocalist and host Kristin Amparo – a lifelong Sly devotee – who’s assembled a high-voltage lineup of Stockholm-based groove specialists. From former Mando Diao guitarist Jens Siverstedt to genre-blending vocalist/producer Birgit Bidder, from Frida Winlöf (Music Is The Weapon) on trumpet to Lars Enok Åhlund on saxophone, plus the rhythmic firepower of Stella Thors Berefelt (percussion), Olov Domeij (bass, ex–Awaze/Ola Salo), and Rasmus Söderling (drums, Gordon Fights).
Expect two deep and soulful sets with love, energy and just the right amount of chaos. In Amparo’s own words: “This is simple. We’re here to celebrate Sly Stone. Dress up, show up. Let’s make this night unforgettable.”
